When I was eighteen I was the worst version of myself. I grew up in a family where health and wellness was never remotely considered. My dinners were of the finest fast-food variety or meat and potatoes. My future looked bleak. I dropped out of high school, got in with the wrong crowd, and could almost always be found sitting with a cigarette hanging out of my mouth. I avoided all mirrors. When I did look at myself I didn’t feel motivated or inspired, I felt hopeless. One day I was lying in bed, sucking in my gut trying to squeeze into my size 40 jeans and despite all my best efforts I just couldn’t zip them up. That was my wakeup call. Something needed to change.
I made a plan. I was going to make a real effort to improve my diet and exercise everyday. I replaced my dollar menu breakfast with four egg whites and toast, and ate half a pound of pasta for lunch and dinner everyday. My workout routine had incredibly humble beginnings. The first few weeks of my fitness journey I was barely conquering a whopping five stair repeats a day and doing sit-ups on my grandparents’ patio. Despite my seemingly hopeless condition I stayed committed to my goal and slowly started incorporating more exercises into my routine. Every time I made progress and noticed slight improvements I felt a new sense of pride, motivating me to push myself like never before. By the end of the year I could do repeats on staircases for an hour straight and was taking the Pennsylvania countryside by bike. Simply making the conscious decision to wake up every morning and move my body completely changed my life.
Once I started to see my body transform I began to believe in my own abilities and decided to get my GED and went on to earn a degree in Kinesiology. After seeing what changing my habits did for my self-esteem and energy I wanted to understand the physical and emotional science of movement. My studies helped me understand how I went from being out of shape and on the path to complete loserdom to being a trainer for professional basketball players. What seem like fairly simple mindful lifestyle changes actually gave me the power to unlock potential and allowed me to harness my energy to the fullest. Despite my unhealthy background I became an entirely new person in a matter of years and it all began with the decision to just move more.
I soaked up my experiences training professional athletes before deciding my calling was to train people not getting paid to play a sport. I quit my job; I was certain my life’s mission was to help those in need undergo the same metamorphosis as me. My experiences on both sides of the glass gave me unique insight and I found myself determined to use this superpower for good. I made another major life decision inspired by healthy living and branched out to create my own program: Progressive Fitness Coaching.

Exercise and living a healthy lifestyle literally saved my life. I was a high school dropout, pack-a-day smoker; I stopped getting on the scale the night it read 250-pounds. When I couldn't button my size 40 jeans, I knew that if I didn't start doing something that moment, I probably never would,
and I didn't want to go on like that.
That was the beginning of a new life for me!
I HAVE DEDICATED MY LIFE TO HEALTH AND FITNESS.
Progressive Fitness Coaching has been my life's mission for almost 20-years! Helping others discover greater living through exercise and mindful behavior changes brings me such great joy. I do what I do because I love it!
